We are a 501(c)(3) talent advocacy group that creates pathways to expression, employment and inclusion for musically motivated individuals with autism and other diagnoses.
We are working towards a world where individuals on the autism spectrum are fully integrated members of society who are confident in their ability to make valued social, cultural and economic
"Jazz hands has given me an opportunity to perform with others on the spectrum whom I can relate to. It has really changed my life a lot. If I hadn't joined jazz hands, I wouldn't have the ten amazing concerts to look back on (not to mention a couple paid gigs with Dylan Bourne). Always happy to be at jam sessions on Saturdays. One more thing: I have made some friends in jazz hands for autism."
"To me Jazz Hands means happiness. I am learning a lot in all of my classes. I am happy that I get to show my hard work to everyone during Jazz Hands concerts. Jazz Hands has made a difference in my life because I have always been very shy and afraid to speak up. My teachers have helped me a lot because they encourage me to be better each day. Jazz Hands makes me feel confident in myself. I have gained a lot from Jazz Hands. I have gained great teachers who help prepare me for future concerts and work. I have gained friends that I enjoy seeing weekly at Jam Session. I have also gained a lot of Happy moments from Jazz Hands."
"Jazz Hands means an opportunity to connect with others who enjoy music experiences. It’s means a safe place to grow an artistic passion.
Jazz Hands has made a difference in my life by opening doors of independence for my daughter that I didn’t initially see. I have a new found outlook in her ability to blossom into a self-sufficient individual.
Three things that I have gained from Jazz Hands are:
1. Trust -in the system/curriculum that was developed
2. Partnerships- with other parents that share a vested interest in the success of Jazz Hands
3. Joy-there’s an unspeakable joy to see my daughter prepare weekly for her day-to-day routine, traveling to class, to hear her rehearse, to watch her promote the concerts, Open House, etc."
Goal: Adults on the Autism Spectrum are meaningfully employed and integrated into their communities
