Tyler

Tyler Martin is a composer, pianist, tenor, conductor, and teacher originally from Lunenburg, MA. They hold degrees in music performance and composition from Keene State College, and a performer-composer degree from the California Institute of the Arts. Their composition explores all aspects of the human voice in the context of both soloistic singing and choral music, and often delves into the queer experience in the modern world. Tyler's passion for singing has made them an avid choral singer and director: most recently they have been performing with the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles and directed the Contemporary Vocal Ensemble at CalArts. They are currently writing a long form piece of music which hybridizes opera and performance art.
